Newton Food Centre

Finally, it is open again after the renovation...
the crowd is flooding back in the evening - what a great different from the temporary location in the last few months...

Here or there...it is always one of my favorite makan haunt...

My recommendation:

1) Kwang Huat fried prawn noodles (front row - facing the carpark)

2) Heng carrot cake (behind fried prawn noodle)

3) Yahya Muslim Food (right at the corner - same row as carrot cake)

4) Duck noodle - must try the soup that comes with the order (front row - facing the carpark )

Changi Airport

Today is the 25th anniversary of Changi Airport...here's a picture taken most recently...

Dalian

Xinhai Magical Slope

There is this very unique place here where the slope appeared to normal eyes to be going upwards but if you place the gear of your car to the neutral position without the brake, the car will actually roll down the so-called 'upwards looking' slope...hence there is a name for it called "xin hai kuai po"

Food...hmmm...yummy
Special dish - beef coated with almond and sprinkle with orange juice...yummy...this amt finished by 2 of us....diet tmr...:)

Chengdu

this is at least my 20th trips or so to this city...

I remember I was there in the last world cup...there was a huge screen setup outside the garden near the hotel and the crowd was really huge...this round...it is pretty quiet...guess they got no one to really support...

don't they look like a supporter of Brazil from this picture...guess why?

another view...this is the bu xing jie...like Orchard Road

Singapore Airline

Why when the critics are saying that the foreign investors are moving their funds away from the island...why when the critics are saying that foreign companies are moving their HQ, manufacturing and what not out of the island into cheaper countries...why when the critics are saying that the island is small and nothing worthy of a visit by tourists...why then is our Airline still doing well?

SQ is still able to transport so many passengers...however...s'porean are not so rich to be travelling out all the time for leisure...local businesses are not doing huge investment overseas that require staff to be travelling out for business trips...i'm curious...

According to Reuters, Singapore Airline is one of the world's most profitable airlines.
